Bulwark is a 55ft traditional style narrowboat which was launched on June 29th 1996. 

She has a Colecraft shell and was fitted out by Peter Pratt at Narrowcraft of Alvecote. 

She has just undergone a refit (2010) and been painted outside. 

Her paintwork is Oxford Blue with cream coach lines and sigwriting and a grey/blue non shine roof.
 

The Steelwork: 10mm Keel plate 6mm to gunwale  and 4mm superstructure.
 
The Interior is fitted out in light oak veneered panels with Iroko trim and all windows and door frames are in Iroko. The floor is Parkiflex parquet with occasional areas of carpet tiles. There is a fixed double bed at the back and a double and single to make up in the lounge.
 
There is a Morso Squirrel multi fuel stove plus an Alde central heating boiler unit which serves low level skirting finrads.
 
The galley is equipped with a Vanette cooker and grill a four burner gas hob, 4.3 cu ft electric fridge and a stainless steel single drainer. There are ample work surfaces, cupboards and drawers.
 
The bathroom is equipped with a shower/bath with electric drain pump, a wash basin with cupboards above and below and an electric flush toilet with a holding tank capacity of 30 person/days (a gauge is also fitted for guidance).
 
The rear bedroom has a double bed with a memory foam mattress a full height wardrobe and a dressing table with drawers and a mirror.
 
The engine room houses the System Management panel and provides additional storage space for the hanging of wet weather gear and other items.  Under the floor is the Kingfisher KD26 diesel engine and gearbox and is where the batteries are stored (3 domestic and 1 engine starter). There is also an Adverc battery management system.  The boat is wired for 240 volt supply and there is a small inboard inverter.
 
Overall the boat is provided with all the necessary items for canal and river cruising and the domestic fuels (coal, wood, gas) are stored in the boat's front lockers.
