Booking System |
A booking chart for the following
calendar year is circulated. Each owner has a priority for that
year, and moves up a couple of places each year: after a year at
the top of the list, the owner then starts at the bottom, and
after six years the cycle begins again. Each owner can choose
two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in the ‘high season’
(April to October), and one week in the remainder of the year.
By this route, thirty-six weeks are firmly booked before the
year begins.
Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining fourteen
weeks are booked with priority in reverse order to the original
chart, so having last choice originally does have its
compensations. These extra bookings are confirmed on the first
day of the month before the month of the booking.
|
Priority for school holidays |
A maximum of two owners may have "special" shares, and this entitles those owners to
have priority on the booking form for school holidays. There shareholders
pay an extra 15% on the running costs base figure on their shareholding.

General comments about the boat |
Spellbound is a semi-trad narrow boat.
The rear deck has seating to port with a locker containing two gas
bottles beneath the seating. Another smaller locker houses mooring pins
etc.
The Morse controls are located at a convenient height so that no bending
down is required to operate them.
On the bulkhead the instruments are located in an easily visible
position.
Two large deck boards lift to give easy access to the engine and
stern-tube greaser.
Moving forward down the steps you enter the rear cabin with a fixed bed
with plenty of storage in drawers under and in wardrobe and above head
cupboards.
There is an en-suite comprising toilet, washbasin and shower.
Forward to port is the main washroom with toilet, washbasin and shower.
Next is the galley which has a 4 burner hob, grill and oven, domestic
size fridge, stainless steel sink and drainer.
There is ample cupboard and worktop space.
The galley leads to the dining area where 6 can dine around the table
which converts to a double bed.
This takes us to the lounge area with 2 armchairs which convert to
single beds, a TV with DVD player, radio. The stove is located in this
area.
There is a central heating system with radiators throughout the boat.
Full width fold-back doors lead to the forward deck which has seating on
three sides with cushions to fit.

General Comments by vendor
|
Spellbound is a semi-trad 58 footer
which has been maintained to a high standard.
She handles well and more than once I have been asked if she is
electric powered as the engine is so quiet.
The other owners in the syndicate are a friendly group.
An annual AGM is held where mooring location, winter maintenance etc
are agreed.
The boat has an inventory which covers everything from all the
requirements in the galley to mooring pins, windlasses etc.
A stove is located in the lounge area which provides a really cosy
environment on chilly nights. There is also a gas central heating
system with radiators throughout the boat.
A TV with DVD player is situated in the lounge.
The boat has an inverter for operation of 240V equipment.
Hot water is supplied by a calorifier when the engine is running and
is stored in a very efficient insulated tank giving superb hot
showers in the evening. Water can also be heated by gas.
Most lighting has been converted to LEDs to minimise battery
consumption.
The galley is well equipped with cooking facilities comprising 4
hobs, a grill and oven and a microwave. There is an under-counter
full size domestic fridge with freezer compartment and a domestic
sized stainless steel sink with drainer.
A full selection of pots and pans are provided together with cooking
utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
The main bathroom has a full size shower cubicle, washbasin and
toilet which flushes through to a holding tank.
The rear cabin has a full size double bed with drawers under for
storage, a half wardrobe and cupboards above the bedhead.
There is an en-suite comprising a washbasin with shower and toilet
with separate holding tank.
New curtains 2018 and carpets 2018.
Spellbound is finished in Oxford blue with cream detail and flashes.
