Booking System |
A booking chart for the following
calendar year is circulated in agreed priority order before the
owners’ annual meeting, where the bookings for the next year are
confirmed. Each owner has a priority for that year, and moves up a
couple of places each year: after a year at the top of the list, the
owner then starts at the bottom, and after six years the cycle
begins again.
Each owner can choose two weeks (separately or as a fortnight) in
the ‘high season’ (April to October inclusive), and one week in the
remainder of the year. By this route, thirty-six weeks are firmly
booked before the year begins.
Allowing for time for winter maintenance, the remaining fourteen
weeks are booked with priority in reverse order to the original
chart, so having last choice originally does have its compensations.

General comments about the boat |
Starting from the
semi trad stern, you drop down into a rear bedroom with a fixed
single berth and bunk above. The single berth will pull out to a
double. There is a rear loo and shower aft beside the offset steps
down from rear deck.
The main bedroom has a fixed double and is forward of the rear cabin
through a door access. The bed has reading lights and under berth
storage. Hanging wardrobe is adjacent to the main bedroom.
The main bathroom is located just forward of the fixed double
bedroom, with vanity unit with storage, loo and shower over a hip
bath.
Moving forward there is an open plan kitchen/galley and
dinning/lounge area that can comfortably seat six with side doors in
the galley area. At the bow end of the lounge is small solid fuel
stove that is very efficient at heating the living area on a cold
evening. The long bench seat shown in the photos converts to a
further single with a hidden Z bed being set up alongside for the
7th berth if required.
Double doors from lounge area onto good sized foredeck.
Additional features include:-
- Inverter for 240 electrical items.
- Full central heating with hot water from the engine and or Alde
boiler.
- Galley with recent gas cooker and four ring hob, plus brand new
fridge.
- Microwave operating off the inverter.
- 240 volt sockets in several locations for vacuum cleaner, which
operate from the inverter.
- Radio/CD player.
- Flat screen TV with DVD player.

SOLACE is an Ex- Ownerships boat
and has been well maintained since it was first
built. We have been owners of SOLACE for the
last 22 years.
While her official home base
mooring is Great Haywood marina, she is
currently out from June to October
2018 operating from Tattenhall Marina near
Chester CH3 9NE to give the owners a little
variety in cruising area for part of the season.
Anyone wishing to view her should take this into
account.
Solace is self managed by a group of owners, a
number of whom are enthusiasts with many skills
and therefore take a personal interest in the
running and maintenance of the boat.
As an owner you do not have to involve yourself
with running the boat only be a responsible
owner when cruising as she is jointly owned and
gives a lot of pleasure to all her owners. The
object is to operate a tidy and reliable narrow
boat to allow you to fully enjoy your weeks on
the cut.
She is a real home from home, and treated and
respected as such by all her present owners.
