General comments about the boat |
Starting at the rear is the rear
deck with a lockable locker for mooring pins, windlasses etc, then
two benches with storage underneath for coal and buckets.
Down the steps, alongside the wet storage area for coats, brooms,
mops etc, you enter the rear galley with black worktops and oak
custom built units containing sink, fridge, gas stove, pull out
units, electric fuse board and inverter cupboard with battery
monitors and controls. Radiator under steps.
The interior roof of the whole boat is constructed from narrow
tongued and grooved solid oak.
Into the saloon area with a fixed bench sofa and removable table
that converts into a double bed. Table slides underneath sofa when
not required.
Side oak cabinet with a 32inch TV and separate DVD player, radio,
and cupboard space. Additional oak corner cupboard for general
storage of items including vacuum cleaner and table legs. The solid
fuel stove is sat on a tiled hearth with an insulated flue extending
through the roof. Another two radiators in this area and side hatch
leading through the door
to the corridor for the bathroom and
forward cabin.
Bathroom complements the kitchen design with its black worktops and
oak cabinets. It comprises an electric flush pump-out wc, basin with
mixer tap, corner shower unit. The radiator is of a towel rail type.
From the corridor with its own radiator, through another door is the
forward cabin which comprises a bespoke king-size transverse (ie.
Side to side) bed that can be folded up to allow easy access to the
forward deck. The double wardrobe contains hanging space, shelf
space and also a safe for personal use. The central heating and
water controls are located on the side of the wardrobe. Additional
bedside cupboards, corner cupboard and over bed cupboards are all
crafted in the same oak as the rest of the boat. On the side of a
cupboard next to the bed are gauges for the wc waste tank and also
the clean water tank. With another radiator that completes the
heating system, there are also double doors leading out up to the
forward deck which comprises a transverse seat and gas bottle
storage (3 bottles).

General Comments by vendor

In April 2018, EOS has just
had its first complete bare metal repaint and is repainted
in its original colours of greens with a cream detail
lining. New artwork depicting EOS (Goddess of the Dawn) has
also been sign-written on both sides.
The Syndicate itself appoints a Chairman, Treasurer and
Technical Support from within its members, to monitor the
Service provided by BCBM.
The Syndicate has elected to move Eos every 2-3 years.
Having started at Alvechurch, she moved to Gayton and is now
based at Anderton. Following some research by one of the
Syndicate members, we have now voted that our next Mooring
will be at Reedley Marina on the Leeds Liverpool canal from
2019-2021.
Running costs are currently £125pm and are reviewed at each
AGM held in the autumn each year. This cost includes all
gas, coal, turnaround, servicing charges as well as
insurance, mooring, licences, management fees etc. The only
other costs incurred for cruising, are fuel and pump-outs.
This level of monthly fee allowed a fund to be built up
which covered this year's bare metal repainting with no call
for cash from Syndicate members.
An AGM is held each Autumn, where members meet to discuss
plans for the future.
